Power Tools Approval Automation

Approval automation allows Approval Process Steps at a nominated User/Queue/Field to automatically Approve,Reject or Recall an Approval Process after a nominated period.

Create an Approval Automation

  1. Select the Approval Automation Tab
    Lightside Approval Automation Tab
  2. Click New
    New Approval Automation
  3. Complete the details of the Approval Automation
    • Action - What should happen after the specified time (Approve, Reject, Recall).
    • Object - Object on which the Approval Automation will fire.
    • Mins before Auto Sign - Number of minutes the Approval step will remain unapproved.
    • Business Minutes before Auto Sign - Number of Business minutes the Approval step will remain unapproved. Business Minutes are based on the Organization Business Hours configure in you Salesforce Org.
    • Sign on Behalf of User - Specific User on behalf of whom to automatically approve.
    • Sign on Behalf of Field - User lookup field on the specified object on behalf of which to automatically approve
    • Sign on Behalf of Queue - User Queue on behalf of which to automatically approve.
    • Comments - the comment that appears on the approval step that was actioned by the Approval Automation.

    Note:
    • Sign of Behalf of User/Field/Queue are mutually exclusive.
    • This is executed as a Salesforce Scheduled Task the actual Approval may may be delayed based on Salesforce service availability. This can be configured as per the Installation and Customisation Guides
    • Complete Approval Automation
    • Click Save
